New Central Florida Swimming Pool: 3 Key Questions To Ask

Jul 9, 2021

You’ve finally decided to take the plunge and build an in-ground backyard swimming pool, but where do you start? The project has many details, with a range of construction and design elements to think about.

The important 3 questions are, what shape, how deep, and how big.

The shape of your new swimming pool

The dimensions and shape of your pool depend on a few things, the outdoor space available, how you plant to use the pool, and the budget. Who will be using the pool, also plays a role. What types of activities do you and your family enjoy?

Younger children and sun lovers will enjoy a tanning ledge. If rock climbing is your thing, then a rock wall will be a great addition. If you entertain a lot, then LED lighting and a fire pit will add the perfect touch. If you plan on swimming laps a long rectangular shape will work best.

The depth of your new swimming pool

Traditional pools have a shallow end (around 3 feet) that transitions to a deep end (around 6 feet), but today there are more options. A popular one with children has the “deep end” in the middle of the pool, with the shallow areas at both ends. Or an “L” shape pool, with the L portion is the “shallow end” and the longer is the deeper end.

The size of your new swimming pool

The size of your swimming pool may be confined to the available space in your backyard. But don’t worry, even if it is smaller than you had thought, you can still have that amazing pool you’ve always wanted.
