How much will a new in-ground gunite swimming pool cost? How long does construction of the pool take? These are two of the most asked questions here at Central Florida’s Dreamscapes Pools and Spas.
While there are many variables, construction of the typical gunite swimming pool takes around 6 to 12 weeks to complete. The size of the project, the weather, permit time, and a few others. While weather may play a big factor, our decades of experience and professional teams we can modify our work process around the rain.
Stages of Building a Gunite Swimming Pool
The first stage of building your backyard paradise includes getting ready for the application of gunite material, excavation, installing rebar steel, complete the stubout plumbing, and site prep. Before applying materials such as coping and tile, the gunite needs to be properly cured, which takes 3 to 7 days.
The second stage consists of installation of the plumbing, coping, and tile, cleaning up the site, and then the hardscape and decking can be installed. This typically takes 2 t 4 weeks to complete, depending on the materials and scope of the project.
The third stage includes interior plaster, final clean-up, fill the pool with water, initial chemical adjustments, instructional training for your beautiful new swimming pool.
